Olympiada Halkidiki
Olympiada looks like a little paradise. It consists of idyllic landscapes, beaches with crystal blue waters and green mountains.
History
The settlement was founded in 1923 by refugees who came from the village of Agia Kyriaki located on the coast of Asia Minor. The name of the village is due to the mother of Alexander the Great. Also, next to Olympiada is Ancient Stagira, the birthplace of one of the greatest philosophers of all time and teacher of Alexander the Great, Aristotle.
Today's Olympiada
Olympiada is a village located in the north-east of Halkidiki. Its permanent inhabitants are about 750 and their main occupation is tourism and fishing. Ancient Stagira is located 700 meters from the center of the village and the area is protected by the Natura 2000 program.
Tourism
Olympiada is the best choice for family holidays. The activity of the village in tourism started many years ago with visitors from the beautiful Balkans (Bulgaria, North Macedonia, Serbia etc.). It has a beautiful beach inside and magical beaches outside the village, each with its own special characteristics.
